First Grant Awarded
Thanks to your generosity, we are thrilled to be able to award our first grant from The Mitchell and Friends Foundation.
Michael is a handsome young man who was diagnosed with Mitchell Syndrome in the summer of 2021, and experiences ataxia (imbalance) and hearing loss. He uses hearing aids to help him stay connected to the world. However, while insurance usually covers a primary set of hearing aids, hearing-impaired persons find it useful to have a backup set for when a primary aid goes out—an eventuality that is bound to happen, and can take days or weeks to fix. During our son’s long battle with Mitchell Syndrome, he’d often have to wait for an audiology appointment to hear again.
With your contribution, the Foundation was able to pay for a secondary set of hearing aids for Michael. On behalf of Michael and his family, thank you.
AND ALSO, with your donations, we were able to bless the five families in our network with holiday gift cards. Money is often tight for special needs families who lose income caring for loved ones and spend money on medical needs. Thanks for your generosity in making the holidays a bit brighter for some wonderful families and kids.
