Michele and Dr. B Making the (Grand) Rounds

The story of the discovery of Mitchell Syndrome is a story of community, collaboration, and courage. Last week, Vice-President Michele and Scientific Advisor Dr. Bob Bucelli were able to share that story with the neurology community at Washington University at BJC Hospital. In one of the most well-attended Grand Round seminars in recent memory, physicians learned what can be done when scientists, doctors, patients, and family members work together to solve even the most mysterious medical conditions.

Part of the purpose of Michele and Dr. Bucelli’s presentation was to identify researchers at Wash U who can investigate possible treatments and cures for Mitchell Syndrome. The Foundation has pledged $150,000 to jump-start research, but research requires researchers. The Mitchell-Syndrome story is not over, and we are looking for new collaborators to courageously join our community.

Until then, those who knew Mitchell will keep sharing his story, so that others can learn and benefit from what we’ve gained along the way. While Mitchell’s chapter has ended, the story has not. And it needs to be told.
